Indulging appears to give pleasure (flower) but actually just highjacks it and replaces it with guilt (weed). The only way to override it is to relax, to not overthink or overwork.
Intelligence, our will, can be very robust and powerful but it requires nursing in the beginning. Let it grab fresh air, the air of creation….and it will begin to take off. Nothing will get in its way. That initial nursing period is very important – this is what is meant when they call it ‘inner child’. It is the practice of uncorruption that helps us get to corruption-free. A child is not corrupt, is innocent, but is also vulnerable. A person who has practiced ‘uncorruption’ has sort of resolved this vulnerability. Once it experiences intelligence (ie.gained awareness), by way of rational reflection and objective observation….it begins to develop confidence and the appetite for creation. At this point, our work is no longer nursing (the hard observation and guidance of morality), but gentler observation and allowance of playing. This allows for the intelligence to grow independent and self-aware, becoming curious, experimental and hunger for learning. Now our work is to follow its lead and learn from its trials and errors while providing affirmative encouragement and protection from criticism. Notice sparks of inspiration, assess risks, note dangers, reflect and journal. Once it has built confidence through play, it attains the awareness of its unique ways of ‘re-creation’, the step before true creation. Now our work becomes collaboration – development of ideas, deepening of visions and resolve, active communication where there is debate and disagreement, a fight for objective outcome, conquering together subjective bias…. here we enter creation.
